Hey there, hi there
Hey there, hi there
Welcome to the website of Lydia-Renee Darling.
Mildly disturbing. Somewhat funny. Always pink.
Based in LA and ‘commuting’ to London, Lydia is an actor-writer and producer blending a love of dark dramedies with a creepy-cute sensibility.
Your friendly neighborhood pink-loving Wisconsinite works in immersive theatre and TV with transatlantic companies like The Royal Court, Broadway Unlocked, Orchard Studios and more.
In the fall of 2021, Lydia moved to London to earn her MA from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where she concentrated in TV and Theatre with an emphasis in Interactive Media.
She’s been seen in her shows in London at The Pleasance Theatre, Soho Theatre and Somerset House with funding from Arts Council England, had her work produced at Bob Carter’s Actors’ Rep and acted in Japan under Yokohama Theatre Group.
Lydia is an alumnus of Webster Conservatory of Theatre Arts BFA Musical Theatre (Acting) Program with additional credits and training from Second City, Sundance, Playwrights’ Center, Jackalope Theatre Playwrights’ Lab, The Barrow Group and The Society for Poetic Computation.
She’s also an award winner of both Arts Council England DYCP and Project Grants, an alumni of the Black Business Residency at Somerset House and the Young Entrepreneurship Programme for her work founding the global majority production company, Oh! (My Gosh) Creative Co.
After working in the UK for four years, Lydia moved to sunny Los Angeles and has German and Ghanaian citizenship. When she’s not busy girlbossing or going global, you can find her gingerly sipping (read: practically inhaling) sea salt matcha, cuddling her three cats and binging whichever anime has her in a chokehold that month. (At time of publishing: Blue Lock.)
“The world’s first self-described Hottest Woman of the Year.”
—Lyd, in her Notes App
“The last of an otherwise extinct species— the Transatlantic woman.”
—David Attenborough*
“Super cool and definitely not mentally ill.”
—Oprah Winfrey*
*Legally we need to caveat that this is not a direct quote. It might be paraphrased. It might be completely fictional.
Are you really gonna be able to verify that, though?
Don’t lie to yourself.
